Should India press the accelator on GDP growth?

Long ago the story goes that Indians have no giant killing ability. The Hindu rate of growth made India to be looked down as lethargic and populous to be of any substace in the world power scene. It is fact that Indians have body fat which made them lethargic to hard work like the Chinese. That left only the brainpower working. So not sometime back some innovative Indians through harnessing the mind created oneof the biggest businesses out of the IT revolution.  Born was the new India charging up ecomies of the world like US ,Europe to leverage businesses as high as 35 times through the pool of highlighly educated IT savvy software professional pool that has pushed India's  GDP growth to levels beyond the Hindu rate of growth.

Today Indi'a GDP stands between 8.5-9 . We still are way behind the Chinese. Should we press the accelerator togo beyond the 10 mark. Can we do so? Should we do so?

Yes we can do so. We have the momentum going for a plus 10 GDP figure. Are we ready for it.
Socialist India is 70 % agri/rural based. The disparity of incomes have widened between the have and have nots. Unless we set up better systems to implemement Government programmes , am afraid that that whilst the middle class population will become more wealthier, the rural population will continue to languish. TheAmericansand Europeons like the rising middle class since they see it as a market to get them out of their lethargic or recessionary growth rates. So they push the Government for more reforms which help themdeploy tier funds to reflect better yields. But it can cause huge upheavals within India. The Naxalite problem is one such issue whic has bought into focus the rural urban divide.

Reforms are not necesarily eveil. But can accelarate problems that India faces today. Stock markets may complain about the Governent not reducing stakes in Government Companies below 51%. I fully endorse Pranabda and the PM -Manmohan Singh , they are clear in their vision. Indian needs to stabilize around the 8.5 -9 GDP for a few years before we move forward. This allows our Governmental systems to tune and keep pace with the new apsirations of people.

Strtaegy heron is to consolidate around the GDP 8.5-9 range, get inclusive growth reaching out to all stratas of the populace, allow time for aberrations like corruption, maoism, linguism etc to be tackled and then move ahead
